Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September. The birthday of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is observed as teacher’s day in India. Dr, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a renowned educationist, a scholar and a teacher. It is his birth anniversary that is celebrated as teacher’s day throughout the country.
