மூன்று தலைமுறை கண் மருத்துவர்கள்

டாக்டர் எஸ். சுப்ரமணியன் நடராஜப் பிள்ளை (1900-1974) 

டாக்டர் எஸ். சுப்ரமணியன் நடராஜப் பிள்ளை மார்ச் 1ம் தேதி 1900 பிறந்தவர். இவர் கலோனியல் ரைட் என்பரிடம் பயிற்சிபெற்ற பிரபல கண்மருத்துவர். இவருக்கு இரண்டு மகன்கள், இரண்டு மகள்கள் மற்றும் 14 பேரப்பிள்ளைகள். தஞ்சாவூர் மருத்துவ பள்ளியில் படிக்கும்போது ஹர்க்கி விளையாட்டு குழுவில் பல பரிசுகளை வென்றவர்.  திருநெல்வேலியில் உதவி மருத்துவராக பணியாற்றினார். அப்போது பிரிட்டிஷ் ராஜ்யம் நடந்துவந்ததால் ஒன்றறை வருடங்கள் ஜெயிலிலும் அடுத்த ஒன்றறை வருடங்கள் ஏஜென்சி டூட்டி ஆற்றியவர். வேட்டையாடுவதிலும் வல்லவர்.

1939ல் எல். ஓ. பட்டம் பெற்றார்.  மேலும் மதுரையில் உள்ள அரசு எர்ஸ்கின் மருத்துவமனையில் 1949 முத்ல் 1951 ஆண்டு பணியாற்றி தன் கடைசி நாட்களையும் மதுரையில் கழித்தார். டிவிஎஸ குடும்பத்தாரின் உதவியுடன் அந்நர்ட்களில் விருதுநகர், திண்டுக்கல் போன்ற பல இடங்களில் இலவச கண்சிகிச்சை முகாம்கள் நடத்தி ஏழை எளிய மக்களுக்கு கண் ஒளிவழங்கி பாராட்டுபெற்றவர். லயன்ஸ் கிளப் உறுப்பினராக இவர், இரணடு முறை கௌரவ மாஜிஸ்ட்ரேட்டாக பதவி வகித்துள்ளார்.

டாக்டர் என் எஸ் சுந்தரம் ஜனவரி மாதம் 19ம் நாள் 1927ல் திருநெல்வேலி தாலுக்காவில் உள்ள குலசேகரப்பட்டினம் என்ற ஊரில் பிறந்தவர். கடமை தவறாமை, ஒழுக்கம் மற்றும் ஏழைகளுக்கு உதவுவதில் தன்னை இளம்பருவத்திலிருந்தே ஈடுபடுத்திக்கொண்டவர். மதுரையை சேர்ந்த இவரது தந்தை டாக்டர் எஸ். நடராஜப்பிள்ளை மற்றும் பார்வதி அம்மாளுக்கு மகனாக பிறந்தவர் தன் தந்தையின் சமூகபணிகளை கண்டு அதன்பால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு தன்னையும் ஏழைகளுக்கு சேவைசெய்வதில் முழுநேரமாக ஈடுபடுத்திக்கொண்ட எளிய மனிதர். இயற்கை அழகை ரசிப்பதிலும், பறவை மற்றும் விலங்குகளின் மீது தனி அன்பு செலுத்தும் குணம் கொண்டவர்.

மும்பையில் உள்ள ஆதித்ய ஜோத் கண் மருத்துவமனையின் தலைவர் டாக்டர் எஸ். நடராஜன் அவர்களின் தந்தையாவார்.

1942-1946களில் ரமண மகரிஷியை பலமுறை சந்தித்துள்ளார். 1950களில் பாண்டிசேரியில் உள்ள அரபிந்தோ ஆசிரமத்திற்கு சென்ற போது, அன்னையுடன் டென்னிஸ் விளையாடிய வாய்ப்பு இவருக்குகிடைத்த்து. அன்னையே இவரை ஆசிரமத்தின் எல்லா இடத்திற்கும் அழைத்துச்சென்று காட்டியுள்ளார். ஜஸ்டிஸ் மார்த்தாண்டம் பிள்ளை இவருக்கு வாழ்க்கை வழிமுறைகளை சொல்லிகொடுத்துள்ளார. இளம் வயதில் இதுபோன்று பெருமக்களுடன் பழக்கம் ஏற்பட்டதால், எப்போதும் எளிமையை விரும்பும் குணம் இவருக்கு உண்டானது. பிரபல கண் மருத்துவர் டாடக்டர் ஜெ. இ. அப்ரஹம் நோயாளிகளை கையாளும் விதத்தை பார்த்ததில் இருந்து, அவரைப்போன்று இவரும் நோயாளிகளை முழுவதுமாக பரிசோதனை செய்வதை கடைபிடித்துவருகிறார்.

சென்னை அரசு கண் மருத்துவ மனையில் இயக்குநராக பணியாற்றி ஓய்வு பெற்றவர். இவரது நேர்மையை  கண்டு பலரும் ஆச்சர்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர். நிறைய மாணவர்கள் இவரிடம் பயிற்சி பெற்று இன்று உலகப்புகழ்பெற்று திகழ்கிறார்கள்.

கண் சம்பந்தமாக நாடகங்களையும், ‘எச்சரிக்கை’ என்னும் குறும்படத்தையும் இயக்கியுள்ளார். வைட்டமின் குறைபாடு பற்றி ‘வெண்ணை உண்டு நெய் இல்லை’ என்ற இவரது நாடகம் துர்தர்ஷனில் ஓளிபரப்ப்பட்டது. கண் பாதுகாப்பு பற்றி புத்தகங்கள் நிறைய எழுதியுள்ளார். டாக்டர் அப்துல் கலாம் அவர்கள், இவரை சந்தித்த போது இவரின் சேவைபற்றியும் கண்பாதுகாப்பு புத்தகம் பற்றி மனம்திறந்து பாராட்டியுள்ளார்.

மதுரை அரவிந்த் மருத்துவமனையின் தலைவர் டாக்டர் ஜி. வெங்கடசாமியுடன் மிகுந்த நட்பு கொண்டவர். அவர் எப்போதும் அமைதியாக இருப்பார் மற்றவர்கள் சொல்வதை மிகப்பொறுமையாக கேட்பார் என்கிறார்.

சென்னை சங்கர நேத்ராலயா மருத்துவமனையின் நிறுவனர் டாக்டர் பத்ரிநாத் அவர்களுடன் ஸ்ரீ சந்திர சேகர சரஸ்வதி சுவாமிகளை பலமுறை சந்தித்துள்ளார்.  சுவாமிகள் இவரது சமூக சேவையை பாராட்டி சேவா ரத்னா மற்றும் வித்யா ரத்னா விருதுகளை வழங்கி கௌரவப்படுத்தினார்.

இளம் பிராயத்திலிருந்து கிரிக்கெட், பேட்மின்டன், டென்னிஸ், கால்பந்து போன்ற விளையாட்டுகளில் இவர் ஒரு தீராத விளையாட்டுப் பிள்ளையாவர்.  1935 முதல் 1996 சென்னையில் சைக்கிளில் எல்லா இடங்களுக்கும் செல்வார், இதனால் எல்லா தரப்பு மக்களிடம் பழுகும் வாய்ப்புகிடைத்த்தால் இவருக்கு ஈகோ பிரச்சனை எதிவும் இல்ல.

ஐரோப்பா, இங்கிலாந்து,. அமெரிக்கா, பேக்ங்காக், மலேசியா, சிலோன் போன்ற பல நாடுகளுக்கு சென்றுவந்துள்ளார். இவரது எளிமையால் நண்பர்களை மனதில் எப்போதும் தனி இடம்பிடித்தவர்.  நிறைய கண் மருத்துவர்களின் மாநாடுகளில் கலந்து கொண்டு பேசியுள்ளார்.

அறியாமை காரணமாக எவரும் கண்பார்வை இழக்க்கூடாது என்பது தான் இவரது லட்சியம்.

டாக்டர் மு கருணாநிதி முன்பு முதலமைச்சராக இருந்த போது கிராமம் கிராமாக சென்று ஏழைஎளியவர்களுக்கு கண் மருத்து முகாம்களை நடத்தி லட்சக்கணக்கான மக்களுக்கு கண் ஒளி அளித்தபெருமை இவருக்கு உண்டு. எப்போதும் தன் கீழ் உள்ளவர்களிடம் அன்பாகவே நடப்பார், அவர்களது நடைமுறையில் தவறு கண்டால் அதுபற்றி விளக்கம் அளித்து வாழ்க்கையில் எப்படி இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று பலருக்கு தன் அனுபவத்தை சுட்டிக்காட்டி நல்வழிபடுத்தியுள்ளார்.

கண்பற்றி விளக்கம் அளிப்பதிலும், கண் சம்பந்தமாக விளக்கப்படங்களையும்  மற்றும் மாடல்களை கெர்ணடு நிறைய இடங்களில் கண்காட்சிகள் ஏற்பாடு செய்து பாராட்டு பெற்றவர். பள்ளிகள் கல்லுரிகள் மற்று மாநாடுகளில் கண் சம்பந்தமாக பேருரைகள் வழங்கிவருகிறார். இன்னும் சென்னை சயின்ஸ் சென்ட்ரில் என்எஸ்எஸ் ஐ கார்னர் என்ற பகுதியில் கண் சம்பந்தமான பல பொருட்களையும் விளக்கப்படங்களையும்  பார்வைக்கு வைத்துள்ளார். இந்த வயதிலும் என்றும் இளைங்கனை போன்று மக்களுக்கு கண் பார்வை அளிப்பதிலும், மாணவர்களுக்கு பாடங்கள் எடுப்பதிலும், சமூக சேவையிலும்  மிகவும் சுருப்பாக உள்ளது பலரை ஆச்சரியப்படவைத்துவருகிறது.

இவரது மனைவி திருமதி கமலா சுந்தரம். என் மனைவி இல்லையேல் நான் இல்லை என்பார். இவருக்கு திரு. சென்பகராமன், மற்றும் டாக்டர் எஸ். நடராஜன் என்ற இரு மகன்கள். மகள் சொர்ணா. இவர் ஒரு ஓவியர் மற்றும் கலையில் ஈடுபாடுகொண்டவர்.

தலைவர். ஆதித்ய ஜோத் கண்மருத்துவமனை,

சமூக சேவை மற்றும் இலவச கண் மருத்துவம் அளிப்பதில் தன் முன்னோர்களின் வழியை கடைபிடித்துவருகிறார். இவர் இலவசமாக விழித்திரை ஆறுவைசிகிக்சை அளித்து மிக கடினமாக அறுவைசிகிச்சைகளையும் எளிதில் செய்துமுடிக்கும் விசேஷ திறமை கொண்டவர். பள்ளிக்குழந்தைகளுக்காக இலவச கண் பரிசோதனைகள் செய்துவருகிறார். பலவெளிநாடுகளுக்கு சென்று தன்திறமையை அவர்களோடு பகிர்ந்து பாராட்டுபெற்றுள்ளார். செயற்கை விழித்திரை ஆராய்ச்சியிலும் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது குறுப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இந்த மூன்று தலைமுறையினறும் கண் மருத்துவசேவையிலும், இலவச கண் கிகிச்சையிலும் தங்களை ஈடுபடுத்தி ‘மக்கள் சேவையை மகேசன் சேவை’ எனற மற்றவர்களுக்கு முன்உதாரணமாக திகழ்கிறார்கள்.

மூவருக்கும் தமிழ்பற்று மிகவும அதிகம். மேலும் கீழ்உள்ள திருவள்ளுவரின் வாக்குக்கு ஏற்ப செயல்பட்டு வருகிறனர்.

ஆதித்ய ஜோத்தில் பொற்கரங்களால், பொற்செடி நடுவிழா

மே 1ம் தேதி உழைக்கும் கரங்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒன்று கூடும் நாள். அந்த நல்நாளில் மும்பை வடாலாவில் உள்ள ஆதித்ய ஜோத் கண் மருத்துவமனையில், மும்பை போலீஸ் கமிஷ்னர் திரு. த. சிவானந்தன் ஐபிஎஸ் அவர்கள் தன் பொற்கரங்களால்,  கோல்டன் செயின் மரம் என்று அழைக்ககூடிய Laburnum என்ற செடியினை நட்டார். அப்போது மருத்துமனையின் தலைவர் டாக்டர் திரு நடராஜன் அவர்களை சந்தித்தபோது, இன்று எனது தாத்தா மறைந்த டாக்டர் நடராஜ பிள்ளை அவர்களின் 110 பிறந்த தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு அவரது நினைவாக இச்செடி இங்கு நடப்பட்டது. இச்சமயம் என் தந்தை டாடகர் என் எஸ் சுந்தரம் அவர்கள் என்னுடன் இருப்பது மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது. எனது அழைப்பை ஏற்ற திரு சிவானந்தன் அவர்கள், தனது பலபணிகளுக்கு இடையே நேரம் ஒதுங்கி தன் பொற்கரங்களால் கோல்டன் செயின் மரம் என்று அடைமொழி கொடுத்து அழைக்கப்படும் இச்செடியினை நட உடன் சம்மதித்தது எனக்கு இரட்டிப்பு மகிழ்ச்சியளிக்கிறது என்றார்.

திரு சிவானந்தன் அவர்கள், பேசும்போது, இம்மரத்தை போன்று ஆதித்ய ஜோத் கண் மருத்துவ மனையும் மேன்மேலும் வளரவும், பல இடங்களில் கண் மருத்துவமனையின் கிளைகள் திறக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்றார். டாக்டர் நடராஜன் அவர்களின் சமூகசேவையும், சேவை மனப்பான்மையும், வெகுபாக பாராட்டினார்.

மருத்துவ மனை ஊழியர்களும், பல முக்கிய விருந்தினர்களும் இச்மரம் நடுவிழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

It is beautiful here with snowstorm, whole city, cars, malls, dry trees totally covered white. Not able to explain the joy in white moscow almost like christmas all around. Going for Russian Ballet and catching train to St.Petersburg.

My visit to Russia

I spend sometime with Prof. Boris Malyugin and Director of FYODOROV Institute Prof. Takhchidi. This is the largest Russian Vitreo Retinal meeting. There is huge audience. I am happy to be representing India.

Invited to Moscow’s S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution to perform Live Retinal Surgery during the “Modern Technologies in Vitreoretinal Pathology Treatment” Conference on the 18th and 19th of March

I was invited to Moscow’s  S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution to perform Live Retinal Surgery during the “Modern Technologies in Vitreoretinal Pathology Treatment” Conference on the 18^th and 19^th of March. I am the only Indian to be invited as teaching faculty I will be demonstrating the most advanced Retina and Vitreous Surgery techniques to a large group of eye surgeons from Russia.

This is definitely a matter of pride  for us Indians and promises to showcase the skills of Indian surgeons and give a boost to the emerging Indian medical tourism industry.

This is an example of current institutional leadership. In the present scenario, most of the institutes are fixed in a block or Squarish thinking.


10. Love Is Time & Space Free
Love is not time bound and space bound. It is very well demonstrated in this movie same love was demonstrated by Krishna and Meera. Love is border free, time free and space free.


11. Importance Of One Word In Communication
If communication dies, everything dies. Each word has impact and value in communication. One word if used wrongly or emphasized wrongly or paused at a wrong place in communication what effect it creates and how is it affected is demonstrated very well in this movie.


12. Mediocrity Is Penalized

Middle class family or average talent or average institute is going to suffer and has to pay maximum price in the life if they do not upgrade their living standards. To be born poor or as an average person is not a crime but to die as an average person with middle class talent is miserable and if you are unable to optimize your potentiality and die with unused potentiality then that is your shameful truth. அதை ஒட்டி மும்பை மாத்துங்காவில் பள்ளி குழந்தைகளுக்கு இலவச கண் பரிசோதனை முகாம் நடத்தப்ட்டது. இந்த நடவடிக்கை தொடரும்.

Aditya Jyot OPD at Nagpada Police Hospital Inaugrated

On 7th Jan 2010, Aditya Jyot Eye OPD was inaugrated at the Nagpada Police hospital. In a glittering ceremony the newly made swank Eye OPD was inaugrated by the Shri RR Patil, Home Minister of Maharashtra.

The eye OPD is a great initiative taken by the Comisioner of Police, Mumbai, Mr. D Sivanandhan.

The Eye OPD promises to deliver high quality eyecare to the employees of Mumbai Police and their families and would be run by the young and dynamic Dr. Kanupriya Amol Mhatre.

பொன் ஆனந்த் இரங்கல் செய்தி, டாக்டர் எஸ்.நடராஜன்

எனது சித்தப்பாவின் மகனும், நெல்லை ஆர்எம்கேவி நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவருமான எனது அருமை சகோதரன் பொன் ஆனந்த் நெல்லையில் நேற்று திடீர் மரணம் அடைந்த தகவல் என்னை மிகவும் பாதித்தது. 42 வயதான மிகத் துடிதுடிப்பானவர் ஆனந்த். ஆர்எம்கேவி நிறுவனத்தின் வளர்ச்சியில் மிகுந்த ஈடுபாடு கொண்ட கடுமையான உழைப்பாளி.

சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு தான் பொன் ஆனந்த்தின் மூத்த சகோதரர் ஒரு கார் விபத்தில் பலியானார். அந்த வடு மறையும் முன்பே காலன், பொன் ஆனந்த் அவர்களையும் எங்களிடம் இருந்து அழைத்துச்சென்றுவிட்டான். இந்த இரண்டு துயரங்களையும் பார்க்கும் போது, இறைவன் இருக்கிறானா என்றும், நல்ல இதயங்களை எல்லாம் எங்களிடம் இருந்து சீக்கிரம் அழைத்துசெல்வது ஏன் என கேட்கத்தோன்றுகிறது,

பொன் ஆனந்த்தின் இழப்பு எங்களுக்கு எல்லாம் ஒரு பெரிய இழப்பாகும், பொன் ஆனந்த்தினை இழந்து நிற்கும் அவரது குடும்பத்தார் மற்றும் ஆர்எம்கேவி நிறுவனத்தின் ஊழியர்களுக்கு என் சார்பாகவும், எங்கள் குடும்பத்தினர்கள் சார்பாகவும் ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்கள். அவரது இழப்பினை தாங்கும் சக்தியை அவரது குடும்பத்தார் அனைவருக்கும் அளிக்க இறைவனை வேண்டுகிறேன். 

பொன் ஆனந்த்தின் ஆத்மா சாந்தி அடைய எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவனை வேண்டுகிறேன்.

Aditya Jyot wishes All of You A Very Happy New Year 2010

Aditya Jyot ushered the New Year with a Terrace Function organised on the evening of 31st December and bid adeu to the sun setting for the last time in 2009.

It was a fun event with Dumb Charades, Antakshari,  Songs, and Prize Distibution by the CMD followed by a Dance Party going into the late evening.

வாழ்க்கை எனும் பந்து

சர்க்கஸ்களில் ஒரு கோமாளி தன் கைகளில் ஐந்து பந்துகளை ஒன்றின்பின்ஒன்றாக மேலே தூக்கிப்போட்டுக்கொண்டே இருப்பான். அவன் கையில் ஒவ்வொரு பந்தும் ஒருசில நொடிகளே

இருக்கும், மாறிமாறி பந்துகள் மேலும் கீழும் வேகமாக இரண்டு கைகளுக்குமிடயே பறந்து கொண்டுயிருப்பதை பார்த்து நாம் கைதட்டி மகிழ்ந்திருக்கிறோம் அல்லவா? இந்த எளிய விளையாட்டைக்கொண்டு COCO COLA நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவர் பிரேயான் டைசன் என்ன சொல்கிறார் தெரிமா?

“அப்படி அந்தரத்தில் சுழன்று கொண்டிருக்கும் அந்த ஐந்து பந்துகளுக்கும் நாம் ஒரு பெயர் இடுவோம். முதல் பந்தின் பெயர் நம் “வேலை”. இரண்டாவது பந்தின் பெயர் நம் “குடும்பம்”. மூன்றாவது பந்தின் பெயர் நம் “உடல்நலம்”, நான்காவது பந்தின் பெயர் நம் “நண்பர்கள்”, ஐந்தாவது பந்தின் பெயர் நம் “தைரியம்”. இப்போது இந்த ஐந்துபந்துகளையும் (அதாவது வேலை, குடும்பம், உடல்நலம், நண்பர்கள், தைரியம்) மேலேதூக்கிபோட்டு அந்த கோமாளி விளையாடுவது போன்று இன்று வாழ்கையில் நாம் விளையாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். “வேலை” என்ற பந்தானது ரப்பரால் ஆனது போன்றது. அதை கீழே போட்டால், தானாக மேலே எழும்பி விடும்.

ஆனால், மற்ற பந்துகளான நம் குடும்பம், உடல்நலம், நண்பர்கள், தைரியம் போன்றவை கண்ணாடிகளால் செய்யப்பட்டது போன்றது. இவற்றில் நாம் எதைத் தவறவிட்டாலும், சட்டென உடைந்து, சுக்கு நூறாக போய்விடும். எடுத்து ஒட்டவைக்கவோ அல்லது பழையவடிவத்திற்கு கொண்டுவரவோ யாராலும் இயலாது. இதை புரிந்து கொண்டு வாழ்க்கையில் இந்த நான்கு பந்துகளையும் மிக கவனமாக கையாளவேண்டும்”.

Aditya Jyot Salutes The 26/11 Martyrs

The staff and doctors of Aditya Jyot lit candles and observed a 2 minutes silence at 11.30 am in remembrance of the 26/11 martyrs in a solemn ceremony organised by the CEO Mr Cyril J Daniels.

Throughout the day the public address system at Aditya Jyot will be playing patriotic songs in memory of our heroes.

A Tribute to our Mumbai Martyrs

We pay tribute and homage to those who gave their precious lives to save ours. Let us salute those who sacrificed their lives, to make sure that we lived ours.

Salute the men who fight our battles for us !

We pay that their families have the strength to bear the loss of their dear ones. They have lost their precious life to save us, so why can’t we just say hat’s off to them? Come on show the spirit of what we Indians are and let’s stand brave against terrorism.

Barack Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize

The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama  "For Extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people"

Describing himself as surprised and deeply humbled, Obama said he would accept the award as a "call to action" to confront the global challenges of the 21st century.

"I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments but rather an affirmation of American leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations," he said in the White House Rose Garden.

The president, who will travel to Oslo to receive the award on Dec. 10, plans to donate the prize money of 10 million Swedish crowns -- roughly $1.4 million -- to charity, the White House said
